- Can JShot capture images from video players such as VLC or MPlayer?
- It depends on your operating system. The video players usually run in overlay mode. In this mode the result will be a blank rectangle. The reason for this is that the graphics are bypassing the normal screen and going directly to the video card. In this case you should use the builtin capture method of the player and open it with JShot. In Windows XP, you can disable hardware acceleration - but I don't recommend it - by opening the Display Properties menu, clicking on the "Settings" tab, clicking, "Advanced", "Troubleshoot", and moving the Hardware Acceleration Slider to "None."
- Where does JShot store its configuration files?
- JShot stores its profiles, plugins and config in the ".jshot" directory. This directory is placed in your home.
For example:
Windows: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\.jshot or C:\Users\<username>\.jshot
Linux: /home/<username>/.jshot
- Can JShot record a screencast?
- Not yet.
- The installer said "Cannot find Java 1.6.0"
- Please download the latest Java Runtime Environment (JRE) from http://java.com/getjava.
- My webbrowser does not launch the JNLP file.
- Make sure you have Java runtime environment 1.6 or better installed and the .jnlp extension is assigned to javaws.
- Why does not appear the System Tray icon in my Linux?
- If you use window manager other than KDE or Gnome the System Tray utility may not be supported.
- Can I upload pictures using the command line?
- Ofcorse, see "java -jar JShot.jar -help" for command line parameters. For example if you want to upload the screenshot using only the console, type: "java -jar JShot.jar -capture full -gui console".
- Why does not the Skype plugin work on Linux?
- Unfortunately the Skype for Linux does not support the command line parameter to send files.
- Is JShot free?
- Yes, it is a free for personal usage. But I gladly accept any donations.
